Friends of Tully Lake monthly meeting

March 11, 2007 Minutes

Friends of Tully Lake members met at 3514 Chestnut Hill Ave. for our regular monthly meeting.
We welcomed several new attendees.
Interest in the Tully Lake development issue is running high, since Dreamtime Builders have
"informally presented" a new potential subdivision plan to the Athol Planning Board (March 5, 2007).
They are now proposing to build 49 houses and to conserve approximately 120 acres of land behind
the proposed subdivision. The developers contend that this "revised" plan will be grandfathered under
the old subdivision and zoning regulations of the town of Athol. The Planning Board disagrees. The developers
have not dropped their appeal of their previously denied plan (still pending in Land Court), so it is not clear
that any new plan can be submitted until that litigation is settled. We await expert opinion from our attorney.

We discussed the upcoming Home Show at the Athol High School on March 31-April 1, 2007.
We have a booth fully staffed by volunteers for the whole weekend. WJDF Radio in Orange will
be running a week's worth of 30-second ads about our presence at the Home Show, and we will give
a radio interview at the Show.
We will also run a raffle. The prize will be half of the proceeds collected during the two days.
We have designed a new, full-color flier for this event, discussing smart home and land-buying choices.

Our third annual Multi-Family Tag Sale will be held on Saturday, May 19, 8am to 4pm at
3708 Chestnut Hill Road. (rain date is Sunday, May 20).
Many thanks to Tony and Connie Superchi for hosting this again!

Group representatives will also hand out our fliers at the upcoming Outdoor Expo at the Elk's Lodge
on March 25!

Our next meeting is Sunday, April 15 at 4pm. Note this is not our usual second Sunday, so as
not to compete with Easter.
